Main actors in astronomy research in the country  There are 7 Research Institutes in the structure of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS of Ukraine), 2 Research Institutes in the structure of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine (MESYS of Ukraine); 15 astronomical observatories and Departments in the structure of the Universities of the MESYS of Ukraine; 1 Private Astronomical Observatory play a main role in the development and teaching Astronomy in Ukraine.
 
The XPM Catalog  Absolute proper motions of 280 million stars distributed all over the sky without gaps in the magnitude range 10m < V <20m on the basis of combined data from 2MASS and USNO-A2.0 catalogues.
 
MAO NASU Plate Archive   Digital archive of MAO NAS of Ukraine (GPA) comprises data of about 26 thousands of direct photographic plates, obtained with 14 instruments in 9 observational sites, and more than 2000 digital images of different resolution available via GPA search pages.
 
Mykolaiv AO Plate Archive   Digital archive of Mykolaiv Aastronomical Observatory (MykAO) includes astronomical data obtained during observations with photo plates and CCD frames. The digitization of the archive is near its completion. Digitized images are available via a web browser and Aladin.
 
AO LNU Plate Archive   Astronomical Observatory of Lviv National University (AO LNU) is the owner of valuable archive that stores approximately 8 000 of photographic plates from 1939, including nearly 6 000 direct images of the northern sky. The archive is partly digitized and images are available via the joint search pages of AO LNU and MAO NASU.
 
IRA UTR-2 catalogue of RS   The very-low frequency sky survey of discrete sources has been obtained in the Institute of Radio Astronomy of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences (Kharkov, Ukraine) with the UTR-2 radio telescope at a number of the lowest frequencies used in contemporary radio astronomy within the range from 10 to 25 MHz.

AO KNU Historic Plate Archive   AO KNU glass collection contains about 20 thousand photographic plates. Historical part of the archive was received during 1898-1946 and now is being digitized.

VOPlot v1.8 Beta 
VOPlot v1.8Beta includes many enhancements and bug fixes. To name a few v1.8Beta supports multi-grid plots for 2D Scatter-Plot which allows the user to have multiple plots having grid size from 1x1 to 3x3 in a single window. Paginated view is added to see data in tabular format which allows user to navigate systematically. Provision to label Lat/Long lines is also added. Users can now plot a cumulative histogram for all histogram types. VOPlot 1.8Beta shows the metadata of a FITS file instantaneously while the actual loading happens in background. VOPlot v1.8Beta also provides better handling of "faulty data" while parsing an ASCII file.

Since 1934, in Astronomical Observatory of Lviv National University (AO LNU, LAO) photographic observation of sky to search for and study variable stars and photographic photometry of photovisual magnitudes for catalog of circumpolar stars were conducted. Along the way, observations of selectel variable stars of various types, novae stars, occultations of stars by the moon were made. The observations were carried out with instruments: the camera with Zeiss lens triplet (D = 100 mm, F = 500 mm), Mertz refractor, astrocamera (D = 140 mm, F = 700 mm) and the Zeiss refractor (D = 130 mm, F = 2400 mm). About 180 archive plates were obtained during the Second World War, unfortunately, not all observational logs were kept during that period of observations.

In 1945-1950 years photographic observations of variable stars, novae, comets, lunar eclipses were carried out. On Zeiss astrocamera (D = 100 mm, F = 500 mm) photographic observations of selected regions of the sky to study variable stars, located on the south from the North Pole to the DEC = 10 degr were continued.

Today, AO LNU is the owner of valuable archive that stores the photographic plates from 1939. Formats of plates are 90x120 mm, 130x180 mm. Plates are not always treated or processed partially in accordance with the tasks. The time interval of archive covers 37 years(1939-1976). The total number of plates in Lviv collection numbers approximately 8 000, including nearly 6 000 plates, which are the direct images of the northern sky. Besides variable stars and novae, observations of comets (Whipple, Tuttle, Giacobini, Mrkos , Burnham, Roland, Alcock, Swift,Honda, De Vico Swift, van den Bergh, Hyakutake, Kilstona, Ikeya-Seki, Arend, Everhart and others) and minor planets were made. Observations of variable stars were done with the method of multicolor photometry to determine the physical parameters of their variability and to build a physical model (EP Lyr, CX Lyr, BD Her, RZ Lyr, V342 Her, V733 Agl, CU Cyg, etc.). Part of the plates was obtained with multiple exposures, plates with emulsions of 15 sorts were used.

In connection with the global trends of virtualization of astronomical archives, in 2008 the observatory began work on organizing and cataloging the collection, as well as the inclusion of wide field plates' data into the global database WFPDB. At the moment data on nearly 4.5 thousand photographic plates are included into the directory. In cooperation with the MAO NASU the index directory of LAO010 archive is available in a unified database on computer facilities DBGPA MAO NASU with open acces to its search pages http://gua.db.ukr-vo.org, including digitized images of plates

In 2010 the digitization of LAO glass collection has started with mobile UkrVO scanning facilities (MicroTeck 9800 flatbed scanner). To date about 2000 plates are digitized and stored on MAO NASU storage appliances. Currently the procedures of their including into the JDA prototype is carried out.
