Biography:
He was born on August 11, 1942 in the Koshlyaki village of now Pidvolochysk district of Ternopil region of Ukraine
In 1964 he graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Ivan Franko Lviv State University.
In 1971 he graduated from the Department of Physics of Ivan Franko Lviv State University.
In 1972 he defended his dissertation on physics on "Two-grade system of charged interacting particles in the method of displacements and collective variables."
During 1964-1968 he worked as an assistant at the Department of Theoretical Physics of Ivan Franko Lviv State University.
During 1971-1980 he worked as a senior researcher, and since 1980 as a leading researcher at the Lviv branch of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences.
In 1987 he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Theory of multiparticle electronic correlations in metals".
During 1990-1996 he worked as the head of the department of the theory of multielectron systems of the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
On September 1, 1996, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences headed the newly created Department of Astrophysics, created by order of the Rector of Ivan Franko Lviv State University I. O. Vakarchuk in the summer of 1996. Teachers of the department give lectures and conduct practical classes at the physical, geographical, geological and philosophical faculties of the university.
In 2000 he was elected to the Council of the Ukrainian Astronomical Association.
In 2001 he received the title of professor.
Since 2008 he is a member of the section "Nuclear Physics, Radiophysics and Astronomy" of the Department of Science and Innovation of NTUU "KPI".
His research interests include quantum mechanics and statistical physics of systems of many interacting particles, microscopic theory of metals, solar physics, planetology, internal structure, thermodynamics and stability of degenerate dwarfs, exoplanetary systems, ionization equilibrium of stellar photospheres, localized electron states. Has prepared 5 candidates of sciences. He is author of 172 scientific works.
He is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Condensed Matter Physics", the Journal of Physical Research, a member of NTSh, a member of the organizing committees of international scientific conferences on selected issues of astronomy and astrophysics, a member of the Specialized Academic Council of Lviv University for PhD and doctoral dissertations.
