The Role of Data Science in Astronomy and Interstellar Exploration
Space has always been a fascinating frontier for humans. From the first satellite, Sputnik 1, in 1957, to the amazing Mars rovers, our adventures in space show our love for discovery, creativity, and courage. Exploring space is a big dream, always pushing us to learn more and go further. Nowadays, data science is making a meaningful contribution to space technology. It's changing how we think about space. Being able to gather, understand, and use lots of data has helped us get to know the universe better and has changed how we explore and move through space...

GRID-based Virtual Observatory VIRGO.UA
VO VIRGO.UA for cosmology and astrophysics is a segment of VO «Infrastructure»- a virtual organization, which deals with ensuring the provision of standards for Grid Services for virtual organizations, to ensure reliability functioning of the Ukrainian power grid, Grid training for users and administrators of the Grid sites, as well as the creation of technical conditions UNG for entry into the international grid community...

WDC-Ukraine
WDC-Ukraine is a part of World Data Center System of the International Council of Science (ICSU). Among the basic tasks of WDC-Ukraine there is collection, handling and storage of science data and giving access to it for usage both in science research and study process. That include contemporary tutoring technologies and resources of e-libraries and archives; remote access to own information resources for the wide circle of scientists from the universities and science institutions of Ukraine...

IVOA NEWSLETTER
US VAO Data Discovery Portal
Find datasets from thousands of astronomical collections known to the VO and over wide areas of the sky. This includes important collections from archives around the world. Feedback on your experience with the tool is appreciated -- please send your comments, suggestions, and questions to the VAO Help Desk.

US VAO Cross-Comparison Tool
Perform fast positional cross-matches between an input table of up to 1 million sources and common astronomical source catalogs, such as 2MASS, SDSS DR7 and USNO-B. Feedback on your experience with the tool is appreciated -- please send your comments, suggestions, and questions to the VAO Help Desk.

VOPlot v1.8 Beta
VOPlot v1.8Beta includes many enhancements and bug fixes. To name a few v1.8Beta supports multi-grid plots for 2D Scatter-Plot which allows the user to have multiple plots having grid size from 1x1 to 3x3 in a single window. Paginated view is added to see data in tabular format which allows user to navigate systematically. Provision to label Lat/Long lines is also added. Users can now plot a cumulative histogram for all histogram types. VOPlot 1.8Beta shows the metadata of a FITS file instantaneously while the actual loading happens in background. VOPlot v1.8Beta also provides better handling of "faulty data" while parsing an ASCII file.

Key interests: astrophysics, photographic astrometry, informatic technologies, photometry, instruments and devices. PhD Thesis: The study displays variable stars of different ages photometry methods and spectrophotometry (2001 I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University);

Biography:

She was born February 1, 1948 in Izobilnaya village of the Crimean region of the Russian RFSR.

In 1970 he graduated from the M. V. Frunze Crimean State Pedagogical Institute in Simferopol, where she started study in 1966.

Since 1966, since the Soviet era, she was a member of the All-Union Astronomical and Geodetic Society and worked as a scientific secretary of the Crimean branch of the All-Union Astronomical and Geodetic Society during the 1970-1977.

Since 1980 scientist has been working permanently at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, now a senior researcher of the Star Magnetism Laboratory of the Physical Sciences Division of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.

Together with Prokofieva V. V., they developed a methodology and software for obtaining light-energy distribution of light at the television set for photometric and spectrophotometric studies of stars, which was installed on the 0.5-m meniscus telescope MTM-500 (F / 13) in Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.

In 2001 she defended at the I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University candidate dissertation "Research of manifestations of non-stationary stars of different age by methods of photometry and spectrophotometry" on the specialty 01.03.02 - "astrophysics, radio astronomy". Gershberg R. E. was her supervisor. In the thesis considered, in particular, the role of age and structure of stellar systems in the manifestation of certain types of non-stationary.

The main works of the astronomer relates to the study of non-stationary vision and the magnetic activity of red dwarfs by photometry and spectrophotometry. It received a great supervisory material for various types of sight: symbiotic, longitudinal Mirid, ecliptic system of Å Aur, KM dwarfs, vision of the Orion Trapezium, and on its basis, detailed energy characteristics of radiation at various stages of the development of their activity were investigated, the contribution of each component in the symbiotic systems and molecular bands of titanium in Mirid, signs of white dwarf ripples in the system of Swan SN are revealed.

She participated in several cooperative programs, including the study of the distribution of energy in the vision of PU Vul and ε Aur over ground and space observations at the Astron station in a wide range, including the UV region, which determined the parameters of the hot components of these systems.

In the works devoted to the problems of the magnetic activity of red dwarfs, the problems of the search and study of star cycles, the detailed study of individual eyesight and the level of their staining, the relationship between the physical parameters of the stars and the activity indexes, and the change in the level of activity in the evolution of the stars are considered. The scientist discovered that the star cycles in some dwarfs are 3-5 times longer than the 11-year solar cycle, and the spots cover dozens of times the greater part of the photosphere than in the Sun, found that among stars of the type BY Dra, the highest levels of activity differ K-dwarfs that rotate rapidly, with periods of rotation less than 5 days.

The scientist is the author and co-author of about 80 articles, the results on the activity of K-M dwarfs are included in the monograph of R. E. Gershberg, photometric studies of the vision of the Trapeze of Orion - in the book of E. A. Vitrychenko which was named "Tray Orion".

N. I. Bondar made a great contribution to the preservation of the historical heritage of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, the creation of a database for the collection of records of the Simeiz Observatory and the organization of the virtual observatory of KrAO, participated in projects for the inclusion of Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in the list of objects of world heritage protected by UNESCO, co-author of the book Crimean Astrophysical Observatory", conducts extensive work on popularization of astronomical knowledge, organized an absentee astronomical school at the Small Academy of Sciences of Crimea "Seeker".

Since 1990, the scientist is a member of the international Eurasian astronomical society.

Scintist is awarded the Prize of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea.
